You may also want to make sure that you have a fresh registry. Sometimes programs can change your registry and it will mess up your computer, causing things to process slower etc.

as stated above my laptop is running super slow its a dell vostro no sure of the model is there any tools i can get to try speed it up a little

I personally used CCleaner the Free version and was extremely satisfied with the performance boost I got and went ahead and purchased the pro version, it may be of some help!
