Undertale - Secrets
#1
U N D E R T A L E

Undertale is a roleplaying video game developed and published by indie developer tobyfox. In this thread, you will find out some secrets from the game Undertale. I also cannot assure that you already know this so please don't complain about it. So, without a further adieu, let us begin!

#1 - Special Ending Dialogue
  • If you meet certain criteria, you will get a unique dialogue from Sans at the end of the neutral route. The easiest way to get a message is by having your Snowman Piece in your inventory when you beat Flowey. Sans will comment that you made a Snowman very happy. You can also get messages by completing the game without using healing items, without saving, or without equipping new armor. There are also a lot of different variations to Flowey's advice at the end of the game. For example, if you complete a Pacifist route until Asgore, then kill Asgore, Flowey will scold you and say you're stupid for ruining the happy ending at the last minute.
#2 - Kill and Revive Dialogue
  • Because the game keeps track of your progress behind your back, it can tell when you kill someone and then reload the game to undo it. The most notable example of this is with Toriel. If you kill her, then reload (or even after you reset the whole game), she will say "... Wait ... Why're you looking at me like that? Like you have seen a ghost. Do you know something I do not? No... That is impossible". Also, if you talk to her, it says "You thought about telling Toriel that you saw her die. But... That's creepy". Flowey will also comment on you realizing your mistake, or he'll notice if you kill Toriel, reload, then kill her again. Against Undyne, you can get special dialoge from her if you killed other monsters, including Papyrus, before fighting her in a neutral route. Asgore will give you extra dialogue if you fight him and spare him multiple times. He'll actually sacrifice himself to give you his soul, no longer letting you choose between sparing or killing him. If, for whatever reason, you choose to fight Sans multiple times after you beat him, he'll comment on you being a freak.
#3 - Names
  • There are certain names you can't choose when naming your character. These are mostly names of main characters in the game such as Sans, Toriel, and Undyne. When you try to input these names, you get a message from the character saying to pick a different name. If you pick Chara, it will say "The True Name". If you also name yourself "Frisk" will get you in Hard Mode.
#4 - Mystery Door
  • You've probably noticed a big door in Snowdin that won't open for you. To open it, you need to complete the credits without touching a single name. Inside the door is the developer's room, apparently run by a dog. If you visit the room before you fight Papyrus, you can encounter Glyde, a special monster.
#5 - Napstablook's Neighbor
  • There's a house that's locked next to Napstablook's in Waterfall. You need to use the Mystery Key from Bratty and Catty's shop to open it. Inside is a rather pink and glamorous room. Apparently, according to Papyrus when you call him inside, the ghost who loved here was called Hapstablook. She left some diaries for you to read. It seems that she befriended Alphys and then decided to become corporeal inside Mettaton. Yes, that means she is Mettaton! If you show the key to Mettaton during your battle with him, he'll pretend it isn't there.
#6 - Sans's Room
  • As you've probably noticed, you can't enter Sans's room, since it's always locked. To get the key to the room, you need to advance in a neutral run Sans's Roomall the way to the Last Corridor where Sans judges you. Let him judge you, then close the game without saving and reload it. Have him judge you again. He'll give you a secret phrase to tell him. Reload the game to get another secret phrase from Sans. Finally, if you reload again, he'll give you the key to his room. Sans's secret room. When you first enter Sans's room, it'll be completely dark. As you walk forward, you'll hear some weird noise until suddenly Papyrus on the lights. He'll say that Sans was pranking you across time and space. Check Sans's dresser for another key, a Silver Key. There's some messy stuff to check out in the room, too. Go behind the house outside, sliding between the trees and building. If you examine the house you'll find another door that you can unlock with the Silver Key. This leads to Sans's workshop. Inside is some big machine, apparently a time machine, as well as a photograph and some blueprints. The more you investigate Sans the more mysterious he gets.
#7 - Cameras
  • As you've probably noticed, there are various cameras scattered throughout Underground hidden inside objects. These are Alphys's cameras that she uses to watch you. There's one at the Ruins's door and one in a waterfall. There's quite a few of them, so see how many you can find.
#8 - Flowey Spottings
  • Sometimes, when you turn around and head back through and area you were passing through, you'll spot Flowey at the edge of the screen. He'll quickly disappear. For example, you'll see him i the room with the three or four Froggits in the Ruins if you head to the end of the room and then walk back. He's also at the long bridge where Papyrus tries his gauntlet trap. There are a number of places to find him, so keep your eyes peeled.
#9 - The Art Club Room
  • In MTT Resort, in the hall with the hotel rooms, you can walk through the wall at the bottom right and find a sign that mentions an Art Club meeting. This meeting is suppose d to be Art Club located in a rom in Hotland. The room is at the crossroads where you got the Burnt Apron. Head north of the fork in the road to walk across an invisible path into another room. There's nothing here most of the time, but if you show up on October 10 at 8:00 PM (or change your computer's clock), you'll meet the special monster "So Sorry".
#10 - Fun Values
  • When you start up a new game of Undertale, and sometimes when you step into a new room, the game randomly genetrates a number called a Fun Value that can influence what happens in the game. It mostly just adds somelittle things here and there, such as a phone call you might get where the caller sings the Wrong Number song. You can also get a call from Alphys, before you meet her, asking for a pizza. One such value will cause a NPC to appear in Hotland who will tell you about an old scientist that once worked in Hotland before Alphys but mysteriously disappeared. It is possible to change these values in the game's files, and sometimes capitalizing fun to Fun can cause changes as well.
#11 - Ball Game
  • In Snowdin, there's a golf-like game where you kick a snowball into a hole. A flag will pop out of the hole. The color of the flag depends on the way you hit the ball into the whole, such as by being quick, using the ice, or waiting until the ball is very small. The color also represents one of the seven souls, and the flag will tell you the attributes related to each soul. Red is determination. Light blue is patience. Orange is bravery. Blue is integrity. Purple is perseverance. Green is kindness. And lastly, yellow is justice.
#12 - Serious Mode
  • You might have noticed this as you play, but the game switches to a so called "Serious Mode" in important situations, basically during major boss battles such as Asgore or Sans. Some of your items will change names to more serious labels. For example, ButtsPie becomes just Pie. Foods such as Glamburgers will not make sounds when you eat them.
That's all for the secrets. Have anything I missed? Tell them here!

Great tutoriel, keep it up. I've also noticed that if you modify the game values, you can get this so-called "cheater" or "hacker" ending. You'll see Sans telling you to tell the creator of the game about this "bug", but then he calls you a dirty hacker.
